“Flowertown Amongst the Pines”, the name aptly given to the quaint town of Summerville, SC. “Amongst the Pines”, the treasured Loblolly and the Longleaf Pine stretch their magnificent, textured trunks often 100 feet into the clear blue sky.

You know it’s summer in Summerville because throughout this charming, historic town the Crape Myrtles have burst into bloom! Dazzling us with their strikingly enormous clusters of pink, red, lavender or white blossoms. Their heavy, flower laden branches ofttimes bend into fragrant and enchanting archways at Linwood. And the common Myrtle, a completely different plant, creeps green at our feet with small, starlike flowers in the spring.

“Instead of the thorn bush the Pine Tree will grow and instead of the briers the Myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign which will not be destroyed.”  (Isaiah 55:13)
